The AVR-X1700H is a network AV receiver with seven built-in amplifier channels and two subwoofer outputs. It decodes Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X. Virtual height processing is available for systems without height speakers. Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction, Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume are included, with a setup assistant to guide speaker connection.
Six HDMI inputs (three of them 8K) and one HDMI output cover video. The receiver handles 8K/60 and 4K/120 and has eARC, HDCP 2.3, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG, VRR, ALLM, QMS and QFT. HDMI pass-through also works in standby.
For streaming it has Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth, along with AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and HEOS multiroom playback. It is Roon Tested. Control options are the HEOS and AVR apps, IP and web control, and voice control through Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri. There is also a Zone 2 output, a phono (MM) input and an AM/FM tuner.
