AH-D9200

The AH-D9200 is the top model in Denon's wired over-ear headphone range. It uses 50 mm Nanofiber FreeEdge drivers with a soft, compliant surround intended to reduce diaphragm resonances, paired with neodymium magnets. The housings are made of Japanese bamboo, chosen for its vibration-damping behaviour, and the whole headphone is manufactured in Japan.

Build details include a genuine leather headband, leather ear cushions that are not designed to be replaced, and a die-cast aluminium hanger that frames each housing and allows the cups to pivot. Hi-Res Audio certification is listed. A luxury storage case is supplied.

Connection is wired through detachable cables. Two high-grade cables are included so the headphones can be used with different systems, including one with a 3.5 mm plug. No balanced 4.4 mm cable is made by the maker. The headphones can be driven directly from a phone, though a good headphone amplifier is said to bring further improvement.
