AH-D7200

The AH-D7200 is a wired, closed-back over-ear headphone built around 50mm FreeEdge drivers whose diaphragm is made of nanofibre, a rigid and low-mass material intended to give accurate pistonic movement with low distortion. The drivers are made in Japan, and the model carries Hi-Res Audio certification. It is an all-analog design with no Bluetooth, no active noise cancellation and no smartphone control, so signal purity is the priority.

The ear cups are made of natural American walnut and hang from precision aluminium hangers. The headband is finished in sheepskin leather, and the memory foam ear cushions are covered in a soft artificial leather. The headphones do not fold.

The cable is detachable: a 3.0m 7N purity cable is supplied, along with an adapter for using either 3.5mm or 1/4 inch sockets. A cleaning cloth is included. Because the cable is detachable, third-party cables with other connectors can be fitted, and the closed-back construction gives some passive isolation.
