AH-D5200

The AH-D5200 is a closed-style, wired over-ear headphone positioned as a step below Denon's AH-D7200 and AH-D9200. It uses FreeEdge 50mm drivers made in Japan, with lightweight, rigid diaphragm materials and soft surrounds mounted on vibration-reducing resin baffles. The housings are made of Zebrawood, a dense wood chosen to damp unwanted resonances. The product is Hi-Res Audio certified and lists a frequency response of 5-40,000 Hz.

For comfort, the headphones use engineered leather ear pads over 3D-shaped memory foam, with a leather-type headband and light side pressure intended to suit long sessions. The hanger is die-cast aluminium and the cups fold on a swivel axis. There is no active noise cancelling, no Bluetooth and no smartphone control; a Denon app is listed as supported.

The headphones connect with a detachable 3.5mm audio cable that is included, plus a 1/4 inch (6.3mm) adapter for full-size headphone outputs such as amplifiers or digital pianos. A carrying pouch, safety manual and owner's manual are supplied, and the warranty is one year.
