RUBICON 6 BE

The Rubicon 6 BE is a floorstanding speaker that builds on the Rubicon 6 with a revised crossover design, Mundorf capacitors and internal DALI silver cable wiring. It comes in a satin black finish with black wood fibre cones. The model is listed as discontinued.

Two 6½-inch wood fibre woofers sit in separate chambers from the midrange section, each tuned individually. The cones use a light, rigid, uneven structure to limit surface resonance, and the drivers use the SMC magnet system with a slitted copper cap to reduce distortion. A cast-aluminium chassis and a low-loss rubber surround are used, and the midrange bass reflex port sits directly behind the woofer. The drivers are mounted on a 25 mm thick front baffle.

High frequencies come from a hybrid module that pairs a 29 mm soft dome with a 17 x 45 mm planar element. The planar element works down to 2.5 kHz to keep dispersion wide. The speaker has gold-plated bi-wiring terminals and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms.
