Virtuoso V2

The Virtuoso V2 is a moving-magnet cartridge from the MM V2 series. Its body is made of hand-polished ebony, chosen for low resonance. The design aims to keep the moving mass low, uses a high-definition stylus grind, and applies damping to the cartridge. The stylus is an elliptical diamond mounted on an aluminium cantilever.

Each cartridge is measured several times across four stages, analysed and hand-selected, which is intended to give closely matched stereo channels and low phase and transient distortion. The frequency response runs from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with an output of about 3.6 mV at 1 kHz and 5 cm/s. The recommended tracking force is 2.2 g, give or take 0.3 g.

Electrically it is a standard MM cartridge, loaded with 47 kΩ and 100 pF. It weighs 8.4 g and is described as working well with all common tonearms. A two-year manufacturer warranty applies if the warranty card is returned within 14 days of purchase.
