N1· Nálar og pickuppar

The N1 is a moving-magnet cartridge that sits at the start of clearaudio's cartridge range. It is built around a newly developed anodised aluminium body, which acts as the structural frame for the generator. At about 12.5 g, the total weight is moderate, so it can be fitted to lighter as well as heavier tonearms.

The stylus is an elliptical diamond mounted on an aluminium cantilever, with a compliance of 15 µ/mN and a recommended tracking force of 2.2 g (± 0.3 g). Output is around 2.9 mV at 1 kHz and 5 cm/s, with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Channel separation is 20 dB and channel balance is within 2 dB.

Electrically it is specified for a 47 kΩ load with 100 pF capacitive load, so it connects to a standard MM phono input. Coil impedance is 0.66 kΩ and inductance is 400 mH. A manual is available in English and German, and the manufacturer warranty is two years when the product is registered within two weeks of purchase.
