SX 50

The SX50 is a passive standmount speaker designed for smaller spaces. It pairs a 5.25" (135 mm) treated paper cone woofer with a 1" (25 mm) silk dome tweeter, divided by a 2-way crossover tuned to keep the two drivers phase-coherent. Frequency response is quoted as 50Hz-22kHz.

The cabinet is rigid MDF, shaped with computer-aided modelling to reduce resonance and internal vibration. A single rear port provides bass reflex loading to add low-end extension. Sensitivity is 87dB and the recommended amplifier power is 10-100 watts into a compatible 8 ohm load. The speaker has no magnetic shielding.

As a passive model it needs a separate amplifier or receiver. Connection is through binding posts that accept banana plugs or bare wire. The cabinet measures 225 x 161 x 240mm, weighs 3.0kg and is finished in matte black.
