Formation Flex is a small wireless speaker built around a 25 mm decoupled double-dome tweeter and a 100 mm woven glass-fibre bass/midrange cone. Two 50 W Class D amplifier channels drive them, and the speaker handles streaming up to 24-bit/96 kHz. Digital signal processing and dynamic EQ are included.
It can be used on its own, paired with a second Flex for stereo, or added to a surround setup with Formation Bar and Formation Bass. Speakers in the range use the maker's own wireless Formation network for room-to-room synchronisation and are controlled through the Bowers & Wilkins Music app.
Streaming is supported through Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready and Amazon Music. Bluetooth v4.1 input supports aptX HD, AAC and SBC. A USB port is present for service use only. The speaker is offered in a black finish and is shown on the maker's archive pages.
