A two-way stand-mount loudspeaker from the 700 Series S3 line, with a decoupled Carbon Dome tweeter and a 165 mm Continuum cone bass/midrange driver in a vented cabinet. It suits hi-fi listeners who want a stand-mount speaker able to fill larger rooms.

The 706 S3 is a passive two-way stand-mount speaker with a vented-box enclosure. A 25 mm decoupled Carbon Dome tweeter handles the highs, with its breakup threshold raised to 47 kHz compared with the aluminum double-dome tweeter it replaces. A 165 mm (6.5 in) Continuum cone covers bass and midrange, and its composite construction is intended to avoid abrupt changes in behavior that can colour the sound.
The cabinet has a curved baffle and individual drive unit pods, a design taken from the 800 Series Diamond to reduce cabinet coloration. Flowport tuning is used on the vented enclosure. Stated frequency response is 50 Hz to 28 kHz ±3 dB, with a nominal impedance of 8 Ω and a recommended amplifier power of 30 W to 120 W.
Connection is by speaker cable to an external amplifier or receiver; the maximum recommended cable impedance is 0.1 Ω. The speakers are sold as a pair, in Gloss Black, Satin White or Mocha, with Rosenut offered in APAC only. Stands are not included.
