The 702 S3 is a three-way, vented-box floor-standing speaker. A 25 mm Carbon Dome tweeter sits in a decoupled Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing milled from a single block of aluminium. Below it is a 150 mm Continuum cone midrange using FST technology, which is decoupled from the bass drivers so their movement interferes less with the midrange.
Bass comes from three 165 mm Aerofoil Profile cones, whose thickness varies across the cone to add stiffness where it is needed. A Flowport vent handles the port loading. The quoted frequency range is 28 Hz to 33 kHz, with a response of 46 Hz to 28 kHz within ±3 dB, and the tweeter's breakup is pushed up to 47 kHz.
The speaker is a passive design that connects to an external amplifier or receiver. It has a nominal impedance of 8 Ω (3.1 Ω minimum) and 90 dB sensitivity, and works with amplifiers rated from 30 W to 300 W into 8 Ω. It comes in Gloss Black, Satin White and Mocha cabinet finishes.
