The DD-8 is a stompbox-sized delay in the standard BOSS compact format. Its Mode knob selects among eleven types: Analog, Standard, Tape, Warm, Reverse, +RV (delay with reverb), Shimmer, Mod, Warp, GLT (glitchy rhythmic delay) and Loop. Delay time reaches up to 10 seconds with tap tempo, and a Carryover switch decides whether repeats keep ringing or cut off when the effect is bypassed.
The looper records up to 40 seconds in mono (20 seconds with a stereo input) and allows unlimited overdubbing. It can be run from the pedal switch alone, or with one or two external footswitches for stop and clear functions. A Twist function is available in each delay mode through an external footswitch.
Two input and two output jacks provide true stereo operation, with independent, panning and wide stereo output modes. The jacks adapt to the way they are patched, supporting mono, stereo, wet/dry and wet-only setups. A TRS jack accepts a footswitch or an expression pedal for level, feedback or time control. Power comes from a 9 V battery or an optional PSA series adaptor.
