The TG D58 is a wired condenser microphone built for close-miking drums. A 20 mm flexible gooseneck lets the capsule be aimed precisely at a snare drum, rack tom or percussion instrument, and the patented clip has the preamplifier built in, so the microphone attaches quickly and takes up little space around the kit.
It has a cardioid pickup pattern and a frequency response of 30 to 20,000 Hz. The design emphasises level stability and handling of high sound pressure, which suits loud drum sources. The capsule uses beyerdynamic's Sound Channelling Technology, which shapes the polar pattern and sound with tuned acoustic delay lines and attenuation pads. The microphone is made by hand in Heilbronn, Germany.
It connects through a 3-pin XLR output. A WS 97 wind screen is listed as an optional accessory.
