The DT 109 combines a closed, circumaural stereo headphone with a dynamic microphone on a boom. The closed design isolates the wearer from ambient noise and is described as suitable for high sound pressure levels, which suits broadcast, commentary and intercom use.
The headphone covers 30 Hz to 20 kHz with a nominal sound pressure level of 94 dB. The microphone is a dynamic transducer with a hypercardioid pattern. The headphone is available with a nominal impedance of either 50 ohms or 400 ohms.
The cable attaches to one side only and is detachable. The headset ships without a cable, so one has to be chosen separately: 1.5 m with free ends, 1.5 m with a 4-pin XLR female connector, or 1.5 m with a 5-pin XLR male connector. It is a wired headset without a remote.
