The VC340 is a keyboard instrument that combines an analog vocoder with string-ensemble and multi-voice choir sounds. The signal path uses analog circuitry modelled on the original vocoders, and the sound can be shaped from thick vocal and string textures to effects work.
A dedicated XLR input on the rear panel accepts any low-impedance dynamic microphone, which modulates the onboard synthesized sound. The chorus section is built on analog BBD (bucket brigade delay) technology that passes the signal through several processing stages to thicken vocal and string parts. The front panel has 32 knobs, faders and switches.
Connections include a mic input, headphone output, external synth input, a control jack for a vocoder hold and pitch pedal, mono and stereo audio outputs with a 3-position level switch, and MIDI I/O and Thru through USB and MIDI DIN.
