The UB-Xa D is a desktop, rack-mountable recreation of the classic OB-Xa polyphonic analog synth. It carries over the original factory patches and uses VCOs and VCFs closely based on the 3340 and 3320 chip designs. It offers 16 voices and is multi-timbral, with a keyboard split that lets two different sounds be layered.
Sound shaping is done with 26 rotary controls that address the VCOs, LFOs, ADSR generators and VCAs, plus further switch functions. An 8-channel modulation matrix extends what can be routed. Up to 512 user program memories store settings, and any of them can be assigned to the preset recall switches so patches can be changed during a performance.
A comprehensive MIDI implementation lets the unit be driven and controlled from an external controller or keyboard, so it can be integrated into an existing setup.
