Jam Play

JAM PLAY combines a 32-key velocity- and aftertouch-sensitive keyboard with an internal sound engine of 128 instrument voices, 10 drum kits and effects. It can make sound on its own through headphones, so ideas can be captured without a laptop or DAW.

A 4-channel, 64-step sequencer with 8-note polyphony supports rest, tie and legato note entry for layering drums, bass, chords and melody. Chord Play mode handles voicings of up to 16 notes, and the arpeggiator plays 8 simultaneous notes per step in 8 styles. Ratchet and random gate functions add variation, and shift functions cover MIDI channel, gate time and swing. Pitch and modulation touch strips, four assignable controls and an OLED display provide hands-on control, and sustain is available via a hold button or an optional footswitch.

For connectivity, the unit has class-compliant USB and MIDI Out, plus CV/Gate and Sync connectors for modular synths, drum machines and analog gear, with 4 sync sources selectable from the front panel. It is powered over USB.
