The D2 PODCAST PRO is a dynamic microphone built around a 30 mm capsule with a cardioid pickup pattern, intended to reduce background noise when recording speech, vocals and voiceovers. Its frequency response runs from 50 Hz to 18 kHz, and it is specified for high SPL handling with a low noise floor.
The body swivels through 270 degrees for positioning. A mute control is paired with a ring LED that shows the mute state, and the microphone also has real-time monitoring and volume control. Over USB it records at up to 24-bit/96 kHz resolution.
It can be connected through an analog XLR output or a USB output, so it suits both a computer-based podcast setup and a conventional audio interface or mixer. A shock-mount, height-adjustable tripod, foam pop filter, shielded USB cable and a 3/8" to 5/8" thread converter are supplied.
