Thyme combines tape-delay behaviour with a range of time-based effects in a single stereo processor. Nine parameters are available: Tape Speed, Delay Coarse and Fine, Feedback, Filter, extra-head Spacing and Levels, Dry/Wet Mix and Volume. Depending on settings, the same controls cover delay, multi-tap delay, tape delay, phaser, reverb, chorus, pitch shifting, tremolo, vibrato and compression.
Every parameter has its own modulation source, called a Robot. A Robot can work as an LFO with several waveshapes, as an envelope follower that reacts to input dynamics, or as an external CV source, and it can be offset between the left and right channels. A freeze button rebuilds the signal flow to make tape loops, and a link button keeps the delay time steady when the tape speed changes.
Eight buttons recall presets, stored as 8 banks of 8 (64 in total), and a 32-step sequencer with 4 patterns can sequence them. The sequencer, Robots and delay can follow an internal or external clock. The unit connects through MIDI in and out, analog clock input and a 0-5V CV input, and it has a stereo/mono input, stereo output, headphone output and a bypass footswitch jack.
