Bastl Instruments Thyme Plus
Thyme+ is a compact digital tape-style delay and multi-effect unit with multi-tap read heads, per-parameter modulation and a preset sequencer. It suits instrumentalists, synth players and sound designers who want a delay that can also be integrated into modular and MIDI setups.

Thyme+ works on the metaphor of an analog tape delay while being fully digital. Tape speed and the positions of several read heads are adjustable, and feedback plus low-pass and high-pass filters shape how bright or dark the echoes are. A Freeze button turns the buffer into a tape loop, a Link button compensates delay time when tape speed changes, and a Karplus-Strong mode is included.
Nine parameters each have a dedicated modulation source called a Robot. A Robot can act as an LFO, an envelope follower or an external CV input, with options for stereo modulation and phase shifting. Parameters can also be randomized, and delay time and Robots can be quantized rhythmically. Eight preset buttons across eight banks hold 64 presets, which can be copied between banks, played by hand or run from a 32-step sequencer with four patterns and Live and Write modes.
It takes mono or stereo audio on 6.35 mm jacks, with an analog input gain of up to +20 dB. Clock can be set internally or taken from an analog clock input or MIDI. A CV input, a MIDI input and a footswitch jack for bypass are also provided. It is an updated version of the 2017 Thyme, with a metal enclosure, larger knobs and a better audio codec.
