The OD5 is an active dynamic microphone built around the ODC50 capsule with active circuitry. It has a cardioid pattern and is designed to give a focused sound with a lot of headroom and high SPL handling while keeping noise low. It is intended for instruments such as guitar amplifiers, and reviewers also used it on speech.
A swivel joint with 220° of rotation lets the head be aimed at a chosen spot without moving the stand. The housing is metal, and the microphone is handmade in Vienna. Switchable low cut filters at 80 Hz and 120 Hz and a -10 dB pad are included, which raises the maximum SPL from 151 dB to above 160 dB.
The microphone connects through a 3-pin XLR output and is powered by 48 V phantom supply. Optional accessories listed for it are the DPH12 drum holder and the SB1 stereo bar.
