The ATH-A2000Z is a wired closed-back dynamic headphone with a lightweight titanium housing and a magnesium baffle that damps unwanted vibration. Inside each cup sits a 53 mm driver with an OFC-7N wound voice coil and a Permendur magnetic circuit, plus a pure-iron yoke and a diaphragm coated with a hard carbon material.
The double-layer housing uses the D.A.D.S. (Double Air Damping System) structure, which relies on an air cushion to produce extended low frequencies. Comfort comes from a 3D wing support headband and low-rebound, three-dimensionally stitched earpads intended for long listening sessions.
It connects by a 3.0 m detachable-style dual-entry cable with four-core, independent left and right ground wires, ending in a gold-plated 6.3 mm plug with a 3.5 mm adapter. Replacement earpads are sold separately as HP-A2000Z.
