The LCD-GX is an over-ear, open-back headset using 106 mm planar magnetic drivers with a single-sided Fluxor magnet array and ultra-thin Uniforce diaphragms. It is a purely analog design with no digital processing, and the open-back construction gives a wider soundstage. The drivers are described as suitable for monitoring, mixing and editing as well as gaming.
The housings are magnesium, with open-cell foam ear pads and a suspension headband to keep weight down over long sessions; the headset weighs 454 g and is handcrafted in California. Sensitivity is 100 dB/1 mW, so it can be used with many devices, though a good amplifier and DAC are recommended to get the best from it.
Two detachable cables are supplied. The 8 ft boom-mic cable has a directional, noise-attenuating microphone on a flexible gooseneck with a mute button, and ends in a 1/8" TRRS plug. A braided LCD cable with a 1/4" TRS plug is included for use without the mic, along with an OMTP-to-CTIA adaptor and a TRRS-to-dual-TRS splitter.
