Zato Connect

Zato Connect combines a bright 5-inch touchscreen monitor with a streaming encoder, audio mixer and H.264 recorder in a camera-bag-sized unit. It accepts HDMI and USB UVC sources, so it can sit on a DSLR or mirrorless camera, beside a multi-input switcher or next to a game console. It can also present an HDMI or UVC source to a computer as a webcam for conferencing software such as Teams, Slack and Zoom.

Streams can go directly to Facebook Live, Twitch and YouTube, with picture-in-picture, graphic overlays, watermarking and framing aids such as a nine-area grid, aspect ratio guides and horizontal flip. Streams or inputs can be recorded to SD card as a backup, and recordings can be streamed later as if live. The audio mixer combines the 3.5mm analog input with embedded HDMI and USB UVC audio into a stereo mix.

For cloud workflows, the unit uploads H.264 recordings through Adobe Camera to Cloud (Frame.io) or Sony Ci Media via Atomos Cloud Studio, and works with Atomos Edit (beta, sold separately). It connects by Wi-Fi 5 or Ethernet through a USB-C adapter, and runs from an NP-F battery or USB-C PD mains power.
