Shogun Connect is a 7-inch touchscreen monitor-recorder that takes HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI inputs and records to removable SSD media. It can capture RAW from supported cameras up to 8K at 30fps, 6K at 60fps and 4K at 120fps, while sending a standard viewable signal out over HDMI or SDI. Codecs include Apple ProRes, Apple ProRes RAW, DNxHD/HR and H.265, and dual recording lets a ProRes RAW master and an H.265 proxy be written at the same time.
Monitoring tools include waveform, focus peaking, several false color modes (including ARRI false color and EL ZONE System), zoom, custom LUTs, anamorphic de-squeeze and custom frame guides. SegmentPro splits long recordings into files limited by size or time. AtomOS 11 runs the unit, and the AtomRemote app for iOS and macOS controls it over Bluetooth LE from up to 15 meters.
For connectivity it has Wi-Fi 6E, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth and AirGlu wireless timecode sync. It supports camera to cloud, Atomos Edit, RemoteView and live streaming to Facebook Live, Twitch, YouTube and custom RTMP/S. It can be powered by an NP-F/L-series battery or a DC input, and NDI HX3 TX and RX is a paid option.
