Virtuoso

The VIRTUOSO is a closed dynamic headphone built around a 40mm titanium-plated Mylar driver taken from Ultrasone's Edition series. It is tuned for a balanced response across the range, with low distortion and enough clarity for monitoring down to the sub-bass.

Ultrasone's S-Logic 3 technology is meant to give a natural, speaker-like spatial presentation, and the maker says it lowers sound pressure level by up to 40% at similar listening volumes to reduce fatigue. DDF (Double Deflector Fin) widens the sound field and adds depth. ULE (Ultra Low Emission) shielding, based on an upgraded MU Metal material, cuts electromagnetic emissions by about 98%. The headband has an FGC center indentation to spread pressure, and the headband and ear pads use Alcantara.

The internal circuit board was redesigned for a 4-pole balanced connection, and the headphone ships with a 1.4m straight cable ending in a 4.4mm balanced plug. Each unit is assembled by hand at Ultrasone's factory in Germany and supplied with an aluminium carrying case.
