R25

The R25 is a compact two-way, bass-reflex speaker built around a 25 mm (1 in) Deep Ceramic Composite dome tweeter set in a waveguide with an acoustic lens, and a 165 mm (6.5 in) Micro Ceramic Composite woofer. The woofer covers midrange and bass, with a crossover point at 1.7 kHz. The lens and waveguide are intended to keep the high frequencies smooth and the soundstage wide when listening off-axis.

The drivers sit in patented cast frames designed to improve airflow, cut weight and add rigidity. Inverted surrounds and a trim ring hide the fixings and limit diffraction from the cabinet edge. The cabinet is finished in Black Natural Walnut veneer and has internal bracing to keep resonance down. The magnetically attached grille leaves the front panel free of visible fixings.

The speaker is rated at 6 ohms nominal impedance and 85.5 dB sensitivity, and the recommended amplifier power is 15-200 W. It is used with a separate amplifier. Arcam lists its A25+ integrated amplifier and AVA25 AV amplifier as complementary products. The speaker can be placed on a dedicated stand or on a cabinet.
