The Pit Viper v2 is an overdrive/distortion pedal that keeps the base circuit and tone of the original 2015 Pit Viper and adds two 3-way switches. The MODE switch sets the minimum gain, which allows a wider clean range. The MIDS switch changes between the original low-cut response and a full-range response with deep bass, so the pedal can also handle bass guitars, synths and drum machines with strong sub content.
HARD and SOFT switches work together with the control knobs to shape different diode clipping and compression textures. The pedal can be stacked with other overdrives and is described as working with both solid-state and tube amps. Controls carry functional labels, and the 2019 revision has a laser-etched black finish with artwork by Aniruddh Mehta.
The pedal is hand-built in Bombay, India. It has been discontinued and superseded by the Ozymandias, a two-channel successor with extra features. A manual is available for download from the maker.
