Beskrivelse

The C214 is a cardioid condenser microphone built as a lower-cost alternative to the C414 family. It uses a one-inch capsule taken from the C414 dual-capsule design together with AKG Back-Plate Technology, and is described as sounding close to the C414 XLII.

A switchable 20 dB attenuation pad allows close recording of loud sources up to 156 dB SPL, and a switchable bass-cut filter at 160 Hz reduces proximity effect when working near the source. The capsule sits on an integrated suspension that limits mechanical noise and stage vibration. The body is all-metal die-cast with a shock- and scratch-resistant finish.

The microphone connects through a balanced 3-pin male XLR output and runs on phantom power of 9 to 52 V. It is suited to studio vocals, piano and strings, horns and woodwinds, drums and percussion. A H85 universal shock mount and a metal carrying case are supplied.
