Force combines clip launching, a linear arranger, MIDI multi-track capability and built-in synth engines in one standalone unit. A 6.9-inch full-color touchscreen sits above 64 RGB-backlit pads that respond to both velocity and pressure, with eight touch-sensitive knobs and dedicated function buttons around them.
The firmware adds MPC-style sequences, stem separation, tempo automation, follow actions, advanced key groups, a choice of warp algorithms and a Record to Selection launch mode. From version 3.7 it can also run plugin instruments and effects such as Sub Factory, Lo-Fly Dirt and Delay Pro, and the 3.9 update is available for download. Projects and clips can be exported, including as an Ableton Live Set.
For connections it has two XLR/TRS combo inputs, four balanced-style 1/4-inch outputs as two stereo pairs, a headphone output, 3.5 mm MIDI in, out and thru, four CV/Gate outputs, Ethernet, USB ports and an SD card slot.
