The ARTist 5 is an active vertical two-way nearfield speaker. A 5.5" midwoofer with a carbon fiber, Rohacell and glass fiber cone handles frequencies below the 2.5 kHz crossover point, while the X-ART tweeter, assembled by hand in Berlin, covers the highs. The woofer and tweeter each have their own built-in A/B amplifier, and the speaker is rated for a frequency response of 50 Hz to 50 kHz.
The rear and front panels offer practical tuning and control. The front panel carries the volume control and power switch, and the speaker has tweeter gain plus low and high shelf filters for adapting to the room or personal preference. A stereo-link function lets one speaker's front-panel volume control set the level of both, using the supplied Cinch cable. Radiation is directional in the vertical plane, which is intended to reduce early reflections from desks and consoles.
For connections, the speaker takes analog XLR, RCA and 3.5 mm stereo mini jack inputs as well as a digital USB input. The cabinet is compact enough for a desktop, and it comes in glossy black or glossy white. An optional ADAM Audio wall mount is available for positioning at other heights.
