Toolbox

Toolbox is a Eurorack control module built around a 3.5-inch touchscreen. The screen shows all active notes and events, and supports touch scrolling and zooming for editing. It can run up to 8 rhythm sequencers, up to 16 polyphonic note sequencers and up to 8 function generators at the same time.

Rhythm sequencers run 1 to 128 steps, with step sizes from 1/64th note to 8 bars, and are available internally and through dedicated gate outputs. Each note sequencer has its own step count, step size, note duration, MIDI channel and port, clock source and transposition in semitones, with optional quantizing to a scale. Notes are edited in a piano roll. The function generators provide LFOs with standard waveforms and a bar CV sequencer, either free running or synced to the master beat clock.

For connection, sequences go out through a dedicated CV and gate output and over MIDI. MIDI input can record sequences live or by step entry. CV inputs can act as clock sources and as modulators for step count, step length and transposition. Toolbox is the first module on the maker's Series 2 hardware platform, and firmware updates are downloaded from the maker's forum.
